Maya Peats, DY FASHION DESIGNER, has been honing her skills to further establish the brand in the scope of today’s fashion. As a student at Otis College of Art and Design, she has blended her personal styles with institutional techniques to perfect her vision.
Olivia Peats, ART DIRECTOR, has made her own mark on the label BY creating STRIKING visuals SUCH AS FASHION SHOW backdrop GRAPHICS, PRINTS, AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY AND EDITORIALS. The visuals mirror the fluidity of each piece. -Kabeer Kansara
Debuting their first collection, “Decadence” in SS23, the Peats have continued working on expanding the reach and message of the BRAND. They have been a part of multiple flea markets and popups across the los angeles area showcasing the sustainable craftsmanship behind the brand. The “Intemperance” collection made its debut for SS24 at the TENS fashion show. Pieces from the show made their way to NYFW 2024, worn by various creatives. - Kabeer kansara

OUR GOAL WAS TO FOCUS ON SILHOUETTES AND FINDING WAYS TO BE CREATIVE WITHOUT TOO MUCH DISTINCTIVE FABRICATION OR TREATMENTS ADDED TO THE GARMENTS. THE SCULPTED PIECES ARE PATTERNED TO HAVE A BASIC SHAPE BUT THE WEARER’S BODY DECIDES THE CREASES, FOLDS, AND OVERALL DRAPE OF THE GARMENT AS IT CONFORMS TO THEIR FIGURE.

the intemperance editorial photoshoot took place at Cabrillo Beach, where the rocky cliffs, sandy terrain, and frequent gusts of wind served as the perfect environment and world for our garments.
This unique environment allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the raw beauty of the location.
Through careful composition and creative direction, we were able to capture the bold, gritty, and timeless elements that define the collection. The textures of the rocks, the shifting sands, calm waves of the ocean, and wind brought a natural and timeless energy.

for our prints, we wanted to develop 4 features, each with a dynamic editorial from our cabrillo intemperance collection photoshoot. The scene has more emphasized mood with bold, desaturated colors paired with gritty textures.
